Not a Standard 5

Another New Year - Another job leaves the bench, captured by a new piece of optical kit.

A complete loco leaves the bench and for a change it's not a Std 5!

There are new pictures in the BR folder of BR green, Merchant Navy class 35020 - Bibby Line.

This loco had been dropped and needed a little TLC at the front end, including new brass sprung buffers and the tender shed its lining when being cleaned and prepared for painting. The lining was replaced with Fox supplied transfers and a crew, a new coal space and some dirt were added while on the bench.

This locomotive is also the first to be photographed with my latest photographic addition - a Nikkor 60mm f/2.8AF Micro lens. This beautifully made piece of equipment seems to work very well on the front of my D80 body. I bought it for its outstanding macro abilities and once I get used to it, I'm sure I will be able to improve the standard of the photo's on this site.
